HK Day 2 - Disneyland

traveling really means lot of snapping, snapping and more snapping. i had a hard time trying to fish out this 80 odd photos for this post. maybe its just because i brought my sissy's slr for my hk trip this time round. having a slr with you prompt you to feel like taking more peeks cause you know it'll turn out well plus its so heavy to carry around - better make full use of it! hahas.

so, back to topic. day 2 was solely spent in disneyland hongkong! why? because the entrance fee was exorbitant?!?!?! even with the discount coupon, we got from buying the octopus card, the bill still came up to HKD320(~SGD60)each. of course we had to make sure we made our money worth. so typical singaporean. hahaha.

so morning started off with us having our set meals over at the hk cafe we found on day 1. we made sure we had a super filling breakfast, knowing that food at disneyland would cost a bomb. plus, we even dabao-ed buns from breadtalk for our 'cheap' lunch.

they have such cute mugs !
i think shar was qc-ing the photos from day 1.
so after breakfast, we headed off to take the MTR again to get to disneyland :)

the disney train we had to take to get to disneyland ! so disney-y. me likey! :DD

even the hand-bars (idk what's that called) is mickey-ear-shaped!
they also have disney character figurines inside the train. cool much. it really psych you up for the magical disneyland!
and after a long long journey, here we are! :D
but very unfortunately, the sky was so gloomy :C and sure enough, it rained that very afternoon and our moods were a lil dampen. but nevertheless, here are some pics :
it was only DRIZZLING,and you can alrd see people using their umbrellas.
we were greeted by mickey once we got in !
our first stop! shar wanted to get minnie ears to blend into the mood. and she managed to psych me into getting one too, so that she wouldn't be the only one looking retarded. hahas.
here's shar snapping away with her slr .

us camwhoring with our new minnie ears while waiting for the mascot to be out!
apparently, they have mascots going around at different hours throughout the day and we managed to catch this one after we got in ard 11 plus! lucky us!
so there was goofy.
mr incredible
sitch
ariel the mermaid
and the genie from Aladdin !
so after the mascots stopped dancing to the music, the kids were welcomed to join in with them to play some interactive games. see the amount of people. -.- so happened that it was their summer break. such bad timing. so as you can expect, more kids = longer queues for all the rides. we spend an average of 30 mins queuing for each ride. :\

our first stop within disneyland (there were 3 main 'land's - tomorrowland, adventure land and fantasy land) was TOMORROWLAND. as you could have guessed from the above picture, it was more of a space-y/futuristic land. hahas. where aliens exist and all.
our first ride! space mountain! IT WAS MAD FUNNNN. SCREAM-ING X932742674256238732
hahas!
we came out feeling slightly dizzy from all that spins. hahas.
then we headed off to try autopia. we though it was some bumper car game, but turns out it wasn't. but still as fun ! hahas. we had to queue for 45 mins for this! :\

see the yellow thingy behind me? we were suppose to drive that along a track. more like an autocar, but you cant not control the steering wheel. the whole car just goes bumping around. hahas. tried and tested by both shar and i. we thought the car would steer straight by itself (afterall its called autopia right?), but to our disappointment, it doesn't! hahas.

even their dustbin's so cute. so animated isn't it? hahas. singapore should make our dustbins look as cute as this!! maybe a litter-free singapore would then be possible. haha.
next up! adventure land! just as the name suggest, this was the forest-y land.

and another cool thing about disneyland. even their stalls changes accordingly to the different theme of the different land(s) they are at! its also true for the workers. so you can see them wearing different costumes all over disney. explains the need for expensive tix. a lot of effort has been put into disneyland, and of course a lot of money. ha.
shar
jungle river cruise was the first ride we took in adventure land! it was a ride around the waters and the 'tour guide' would explain the surroundings to us kind of curise thingy. somewhat like taking the tram around the zoo? anw there were 3 queues for this ride which provided 3 different langauges to suit the different needs of the patrons. the 3 languages was of course canto, chinese and english. since english was our preferred language, shar and i went to queue at the queue which stated 'english'. but God-knows-why, shar got stopped by the staff there reminding her that she was entering the 'english'-queue. HAHAHA. what a joke. maybe shar look too local. in any case, shar replied her in english ' i speak english.' (Y) i guess they stereotype all asian there to either be locals or from china. tsktsk.

we then explored around adventure land.

our next stop would be to visit tarzan's treehouse.
we had to take this boat across. which was kinda lame.

here we are!

they had short excerpts from the storybook all around the treehouse.

and after we were done with the treehouse, we decided to wait for the show! but unfortunately, after two dance, it began to drizzle - rain - heavy rain. it rained so heavily that most people were found gathered in the shops around. hahas.
since we were stuck too, we decided to take the time to snap some more pics. shar with minnie
and mickey, which resembled darryll.

after half and hour or so, the rain lighten a lil and we managed to get to fantasy land and tried on the carousel.

we were so tired out after which and decided to hide in the 'cafeteria' there while waiting for the rain to stop completely cause we couldn't use our slr in the rain. although being at a cafeteria, we didn't buy any food in there cause it was so FRIGGING expensive. we just munched on our buns from breadtalk. budget style. then rested for an hour or so.

finally the rain decided that it had enough of crying, we were able to try another ride within fantasy land. winnie the pooh ride!
pardon us for all the camwhore pics. they's what you do after getting bored queuing for a longgggg.

and finally, our last stop for the day! philhar magic! its the 4D show!!! mad cool! shar and i had NO idea it was 4D (that means it included the physical aspect). and when water splashed out for the first time, we got so panicky! cause we didn't keep our slrs in our bags! hahaha. noobs.

fantasy land. its actually the castle we always see in disney movies isnt it? pweetttyyyy.

we headed off to get a hotdog bun to share after the show cause we were hungry again. then to kill time before the fireworks display starts at 9pm, we decided to take a stroll down the 'main USA street'. the lightings are really pretty at night! it makes you feel as though you are living in theworld of fantasy. makes you feel like the little girl you were when you were young. i wish i could stay there forever mann. hahas. it just felt so magical.♥♥♥

we went into more shops. but actually, all the items sold within disneyland's pretty much the same. we just wanted the aircon. heh. i thought that this was like the best picture of the day! its as though shar owns everything behind her!! hahas. but in fact, i took it while no one was behind/around her.
i want thissssss! but it came with such an expensive price tag i didn't buy it. it frigging cost sgd 60!?!?!?

camera guy shying away. hahaha.

ohyes. we managed to take the train ride around disney before the fireworks display as well! :)
us looking spastic and so oily and all after a long day. hahaha.
afterwhich, we went to sit right in front of the castle like an hour early (kiasu sgreans) in hope that we could take some awesome pictures later on!
and here are some passable shots. hahaha. i dont think we managed to take superbly awesome shots :\

stupid line.
and there! we headed back to mongkok after this to get cheap noodles and bbt before heading back to our hotel to change and wash up for the night! all in all, i thought that disneyland was not too bad other than the bad weather we kena-ed this time round. and perhaps, going during the cooler season would be a better idea.
